Health Care

Stringent care is taken of the health of animals at London and Essex Kents Farm Kennels and Catteries.

Daily visits are made by a qualified veterinary surgeon to ensure the health of animals. As agents of the owners we maintain the right to instruct the vet to perform at his or her discretion whatever procedures are deemed necessary for the comfort of a particular dog or cat in quarantine. Whenever possible we will advise owners of all proposed treatments and will put them directly in contact with the vet if desired.

All dogs should be inoculated against Distemper, Viral Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvo Virus.

Cats should be inoculated against Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu.

Unless valid certifiucates are received in advance showing that these have been carried out in the last six months the animals will be reinoculated on arrival at London and Essex Kents Farm Kennels and Catteries. Both cats and dogs must be vaccinated against rabies on arrival, whether or not this has been previously carried out. This is a Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs regulation. (This does not apply to animals which may be eligible for early release under the PETS scheme.)

In addition all dogs and cats will be given a course of worming with a broad spectrum product to cover all types.

All of these health precautions are at the expense of the owner.
